I came back for a while 'from Tel Aviv, just days before the raid the Freedom Flotilla, and I anticipate that this is not a place to take the parts of 'one or the other. Before leaving I wanted to find interesting information about culture, places to visit and of course there are, but you have to dig.
In Tel Aviv I met many people with interesting stories. There is a crazy mix of different cultures and, contrary to what one thinks, Arabs and Israelis live together peacefully in Tel Aviv. Even in Jerusalem did not seem to see asti between the two factions.
In Israel, I did a little 'life as a tourist on the weekends but during the working week. My azinda is on the Rothschilds in a nice Tower skyscraper called Einav. And now I tell you one thing that does remain speechless Italians: Once a week was the shiatsu massage in the office! During the sessions we chatted a bit 'and it seems that in Tel Avi is completely normal to have a massage therapist in the company.
But Tel Aviv is not by chance is called the Bull: Israel is Orthodox but if they see little, young people are always around and dancing and there are many companies Hi-tech and the Internet. As I was told by a Jewish girl in Turin I met one evening at Gordo, a beautiful room on Gordon Beach, the Israelis have enough regular work, but those who work in hi-tech and web marketing companies are privileged . We chatted a lot and I recommended a book START UP NATION written by two Israeli journalists. I bought it the next day in a library on Dizengoff, the main street where I had the apartment.
I've almost finished, and certainly if you work in this area is even more interesting because explain where they were born the main Start ups in Israel, a nation that, despite three major wars and recurring problems politicians, has a large number of companies listed. Everything that is written on the Israelis: their resourceful, the lack of hierarchy and their being open, I can only confirm that. It 's definitely what struck me the most. I think it is one of the best places to go to learn, and is worth much more than many master and pseudo training courses ranging from time to Italy where we see very little practice. My advice is to travel, talk with people and enrich you in every respect.
The next stop is Tokyo ;-)
